Overview

The Inter-Disciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD) is a 5-year academic program that allows undergraduate students to simultaneously earn a B.Tech in their parent branch and an M.Tech specialisation from Semester 6 in Biomedical Engineering, Complex systems & Dynamics, Computational Engineering and Energy Systems. Students enter through JoSAA in their parent department and choose a specialization at the end of their third year, allowing them to explore an advanced engineering track.

The program is designed for students who wish to pursue research, high-impact industry roles, or postgraduate studies and want to complete both degrees without the transition cost of a separate M.Tech admission process.

Our department coordinates the following specialisations offered as part of the IDDD program: Biomedical Engineering, Complex systems & Dynamics, Computational Engineering and Energy Systems.

What the Program Develops

Interdisciplinary Learning Foundation years span applied mechanics, biomedical, and computational topics before specialization
Industry Projects Structured engagements with industry partners as part of the advanced degree component
Tailored Learning Paths Specialization choice at Semester 6 allows a personalized advanced track
Dual Degree Advantage Graduate with both B.Tech and M.Tech in five years — equivalent to six years via separate programs
